Finding the sense of Christmas and the secret of the Christmas period through the joy of others.

The United Nations proclaimed the year 2003 as the year of clean drinkable water. It's easy to give a title to the years but more difficult to say what is the true significance and how it can be implemented. We want to give you this in a concrete form. Within the year 2003 at least three other villages in Kenya will have drinkable water .This will be a great event for those villagers. They will remember that year and pass it down to future generations with great pride. They will remember as other villages did before, that the water used to flow on Mount Kenya but after a lot of work it now flows near their village.
C.E.F.A. started this enormous project to bring clean water to an area of 60,000people several years ago and since then five villages have received their dream.
The ones of you who follow the activities of C.E.F.A. will remember that in the past we have spoken about this project; we launched it as a Christmas campaign a few years ago. We are pleased to be able once more to count on our backers of the project; to demonstrate concretely that the project will continue until completion; that it does not consist of sporadic help in case of emergency but of long lasting help.
NOW THE AQUEDUCT PLANT HAS TO BE FINISHED with other ramifications, a plant where millions of people of the various villages have worked in the excavations free. If this has already been done then it means it is possible to continue. Between could do and must do the step is short. Until we have reached the last village we will not stop.
Every year for us, for the men, women, children and the elderly of Kiirua will be the year of drinking.
So be it that the international year for water is a motivation for everybody in the message of brotherhood and joy to work together. If something like this is possible then we can not stop. Thank you for what you have done and what you will be doing. If you think you can do something then why not try to get the collaboration of your friends and family in an act which will give them happiness and give to the families in these villages in Africa continual joy. From everybody in C.E.F.A. to you all in Italy and in all parts of the world a very happy Christmas.
