Our aims…
Providing an example of a way of integrated development in co-partnership with the inhabitants and their organizations.
Preservation and strengthening of good interethnic relations between the two clans living inside the project area.
Finally, our aim is also to offer a small example, a model, to all those small water projects existing within the area of operation, which failed or stalled because of poor management or poor members' empowerment.
In order to raise communities awareness on the roles and responsibilities of both ordinary members and LWS officials within the KKWP a three year training programme has been arranged and is now on going in each of the 16 LWSs.
A team of 3 social workers and one water technician is involved in the community awareness programme and in the training follow up with several on site activities with communities and community leaders. A special training manual was developed by the team, tailored on the KKWP beneficiaries needs.
Besides the 3 year training programme currently under, training sessions on food preservation, water harvesting collection, health and hygiene, environment protection, family planning, mainly addressed to women groups, were held in the past.
